The concept of having a bike custom built for you is something that has been available for a while now, it's always been pretty easily understood, you choose your frame, wheels, groupset and finishing kit to build your custom bike. But Trek have now taken this to an all new level, by introducing Project One to the UK.

It is now possible to create your own personal and completely unique Madone, choosing from either a Madone 5 or 6 series, there is a huge array of options including some understanding paint jobs and unique finishing touches. Trek have setup a dedicated website which allows you to play around selecting frame colours, specs and finishing part before you confirm your order and come in store for a Bikefit and measure.

The 5-series comes in 3 fits Pro, Performance and WSD, with these bikes that are a range of standard paint jobs at no extra charge, or you can go for one of the signature series paint job which gives you a completely different paint job whether it is a Astana Team Replica or custom job. Then there is the small matter of choosing you groupset, wheels, finishing kit and touches such as wheel decals, cable colour etc...

The 6-Series is an all new bike for 2010, designed for the Astana Team with  input from Lance Armstrong and Alberto Contador, then going on to win the Tour de France with Contador onboard, this is a top class, high performace bike. Again offered in three fits, Pro, Performance and WSD.

The 6-series uses a number of new features including OCLV2 Carbon tubing, Stepped joints to provide a cleaner finish to the frame inside and outside helping to reduce weight, cleaner internal cable routing and specific routing and fixing for the all new Shimano Dura Ace Di2 groupset, this is a bike at the cutting edge of technology.

For the 6 Series the number of standard paint jobs increase to nine, with further Signature Series and Team paints jobs including Livestrong paint job pictured above and a special Contador livery paint scheme.

Depending of the options that you chose delivery for your very own customised bike is between 7 and 30 days.
